Spring has (almost) Sprung

Spring has (almost) Sprung

Spring has (almost) Sprung

Who has heard of Pinterest? Even now, typing that question almost makes me laugh out loud. Perhaps a better question is who hasn’t heard of Pinterest? With Spring right around the corner my Pinterest app is full of flowers, dresses and bunnies. One thing we can always count on is for the “Pinners” (people who use Pinterest) of this world to help determine what trends are on the horizon. The Huffington Post turned to them to see what home décor trends we can expect for the Spring and I thought I’d share.

Palm Leaves

Of course, greenery is on the rise with the trend of Wabi-Sabi decorating in the home and these single leaves are a lot easier to care for than a whole plant.

Fringe

Tassels and fringe are not just for fancy Western jackets anymore. They are making their way into our homes! In fact according to the Huffington Post article, “Searches for “fringe pillows” increased more than 330 percent this year”.

Pampas Grass

This wispy, earthy foliage is “on fire” so they say… the search for it on Pinterest has increased 500% since last year. It is hard to come by, according to Huffington Post, so they suggest getting your hands on one or two sprigs and displaying it in a vase.

Ceramic Dishes

Another Wabi-Sabi trend, ceramics and stoneware! I love both! Ceramic dinnerware searches have increased 185% this year.

Herbariums

This might be my favorite trend heading into fall! I love green plants, I always have but my thumb is anything but green. With this trend, I can keep that fact a secret! With the fern pressed in between two pieces of glass, there is absolutely no watering!
